In three years, it will be time once again for the next PARTEC Congress. It will take place in 2022, and it will have a new chair, as Professor Stefan Heinrich will hand over the reins as chairman to Professor Arno Kwade from the Technical University of Braunschweig. Professor Kwade has been the head of its Institute for Particle Technology (iPAT) since 2005. Working together with the Executive Committee, he will be in charge of planning the congress. The team plans to place more focus on particle technology for tomorrow’s products.

As an internationally renowned scientific forum for particle and bulk solid technology, PARTEC gathers representatives from the world of research and development in new technologies every three years. It runs concurrently with POWTECH, the leading trade fair for the mechanical processing, analysis and handling of powder and bulk solids. “This forges the perfect link between science and real-world applications, creating unparalleled opportunities for professional development and exchanging ideas,” says Professor Arno Kwade, chair of PARTEC 2022. An in-depth presentation and a discussion of particle technology as the basis for future products, especially sustainable products, are envisaged, he says.

It remains to be seen whether this will end up being the main topic of the next PARTEC. “Particle technology and all of its adjacent areas are in a state of major flux. Things remain exciting and we will see which areas will show particular growth by 2022 and which opportunities will still unfold for science and industry,” Professor Kwade stresses.

This year’s PARTEC attracted 500 delegates to Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 9 to 11 April 2019. Besides participating in a variety of high-calibre presentations and panel sessions, attendees also enjoyed a poster exhibition and many networking events.

About PARTEC

PARTEC sees itself as an international forum for research and development in particle technology. The congress, which is held in English, brings together scientists and engineers from all over the world every three years and covers topics like particle formation, agglomeration and coating processes and diverse industrial applications for particles. The International Congress for Particle Technology is organised by NürnbergMesse and is sponsored by the VDI Association of Process and Chemical Engineering (GVC).
